Code of Conduct
wind ‘n’ sails Code of Conduct
The Wind ‘n’ Sails Workplace Code of Conduct establishes labor standards to ensure fair, humane, and ethical working conditions. These standards are based on International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions and widely recognized best labor practices.
All companies, vendors, and factories affiliated with Wind ‘n’ Sails are required to comply with all applicable national and local laws governing labor practices. Where discrepancies arise between national laws and this Code, the higher standard must be upheld.
Wind ‘n’ Sails actively monitors compliance by evaluating adherence to Compliance Benchmarks and the Principles of Monitoring. The Compliance Benchmarks outline specific requirements for meeting each standard, while the Principles of Monitoring ensure proper assessment and enforcement. Companies, vendors, and factories are expected to address any noncompliance issues and implement sustainable mechanisms to ensure long-term adherence.
As a leader in workplace ethics and sustainability, Wind ‘n’ Sails is committed to fostering collaboration, accountability, and transparency. The organization continuously strives to improve workplace conditions, promote ethical treatment, and ensure workers earn fair wages in safe and healthy environments.
Workplace Standards
Employment Relationship
All vendors and factories must establish fair and lawful employment conditions that safeguard workers’ rights, in compliance with national and international labor laws and social security regulations.
Nondiscrimination
Discrimination in any form is strictly prohibited. Employment decisions—including hiring, wages, promotions, discipline, termination, or retirement—must not be based on gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political opinion, social group, or ethnic origin.
Harassment and Abuse
All employees must be treated with dignity and respect. No worker shall be subjected to physical, sexual, psychological, or verbal harassment or abuse in any form.
Forced Labor
The use of any form of forced labor, including prison labor, indentured labor, bonded labor, or any other coercive work arrangement, is strictly prohibited.
Child Labor
No individual under the age of 15 or below the legal minimum working age (whichever is higher) may be employed.
Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
Workers have the right to freely associate, organize, and engage in collective bargaining without fear of retaliation or interference. Employers must respect and uphold this fundamental right.
Health, Safety, and Environment
Employers must provide a safe and healthy workplace to prevent accidents, injuries, and work-related health risks. Facilities should meet all legal safety requirements, and responsible environmental measures must be taken to minimize negative environmental impacts.
Hours of Work
Employers must comply with legal work-hour limits in the country of operation. • The standard workweek shall not exceed 48 hours. • Employees must receive at least 24 consecutive hours of rest every seven days. • Overtime must be voluntary and compensated at a premium rate. • Except in extraordinary circumstances, total work hours (regular + overtime) must not exceed 60 hours per week.
Compensation
All workers have the right to fair wages that cover basic living expenses and allow for discretionary income. Employers must: • Pay at least the legal minimum wage or the prevailing industry wage, whichever is higher. • Comply with all wagerelated laws and provide legally mandated benefits. • Take steps toward progressive wage improvements if current wages do not meet workers’ basic needs.
This Code of Conduct reflects Wind ‘n’ Sails’ commitment to ethical labor practices, worker dignity, and sustainable business operations. All affiliated companies, vendors, and factories are expected to uphold these standards and contribute to a fair and respectful work environment.
